1887 Nagant Antique?

I seen one that was ser # 595 or so that was made in the 1897
they made them till 1907 i think and they were great guns,
Ive never found one i could state was Antique for certin tho.
Heres some info from my great big Book Hanguns of the world.
the husquvarna produced 13,732 nagant revolvers for the armed forces from 1897 to 1905
in 1907 the army began to replace the nagant with the 1903 FN browning self loading pistol.
theres great pics of both sides of a Husquvarna made swedish m / 1887 7.5mm nagant revolver.
So your SER # id say its Post 1898.
it says the factory in husqvarna intiated production of the nagant revolver in 1897
So at say 1500 per Year (this is how CFC figgers out Cut off dates take the Total amount made then divide the years made) your Ser # is about mid 1899
You have to watch these Nagants Carefully!

Hi Pete, The highest serial number I could get a letter for was in the 1500 range. I tried last week to get a letter for the exact same gun ( serial 3992) and CFR refused to send me a letter for it. Too bad because this is a really nice one !!

It is like dingus says basically all the guns made domestically by the swedes at the husky plant are modern guns.
Don't be discouraged though, I have seen at least a few of the antique eligiable ones over the last year. They are always in pristine shape as most of tem spent from 1905 till surplused in the 1980s in the possesion of post offices and various non military organizations. IIRC.
