Alberta Tactical Handgun League - Match #9 - June 15th, 2008 (photos added)

26 shooters shot today. The weather was great and we even finished at a reasonable time.

I'll post results and photos a soon as I'm able.......

We are very gentle on first timers. You will find the people who run the ATHL Matches are all great people (yes, I'm one of them) and will take all the time that is required to make sure your first shoot is a great experience. Come out and shoot the next match, or just come out to say Hi. Either way you'll have a great day.

Cool, thanks...

Can you send a schedule?

The 2008 Postal Match is now closed.

2144 shooters competed world wide.

http://www.nepaidpascores.net/postal/2008-07-31status.htm

ATHL had 24 entries; just about double the rest of Canadian competitors combined!

Final scores are due out at the end of the week.

Great that you got 24 shooters out Mass..........good thing you have those little towns to the north and south to draw shooters from:rolleyes:
Terrace has a population of about 20,000 and we had 6 entries.........ATHL Draws from around 2 millon people and had 24 entries.. I think 24 is a good start but doing the math you should start bragging when you start to get around 600 entries .:)

OK, let's take your logic one step further.

Alberta & BC have a combined population of around 7.4 million. Subtract the 2 million in Calgary/Edmonton, and there should've been at least 2 1/2 times the participation of ATHL. There was barely had 2/3.

And what about Ontario? 3 clubs, 12.1 million population and zero participation.

People in glass houses.......

Not criticizing Mass,

I just think we as a group have a long way to expand before we start beating our chests........the more clubs we have the better the diversity of shooters we will attract. IMHO having one shooter from each of 24 different clubs across Canada compete in the Postal Shoot will be something to jump up and down about !

What is the difference between the ATHL and IDPA? Also are there rules in place with either league that would not allow shooters to compete as was mentioned above?
