So just bought my first ML.
An Omega Z5 in .50 Cal.

Really like it so far and have not even gotten a chance to shoot it yet.
Although it is now very very clean and readdy to be shot.

Plan on using it for Deer this year.

Who else has one and what do you think of yours?

Just bought an Omega Z5 this past Friday, my first ML. Like yours, mine too is very clean. Was going to go out today but with the rain I thought I'd pass.

My only complaint is the heavy mold lines on the stock, almost worse than my Savage 111.:kickInTheNuts:

Gonna try the Hornady 250gr SST ML bullets and 777 ffg loose.

I've had a z5 thumbhole for two seasons, only complaint is getting primers in or out. This gun put three shotss into just under an inch at 100yds. I tagged a young buck last year at 161 yds.My hunting partner shot two does at 268yds. Both rifles use 3 50/50 pyro pellets,I used t\c shockwave 250.He used Hornady 250 sst.His is z5 without thumbhole and yes we practice out to 200 yds with these guns.

Heh shotgunjoe, that story sounds familiar, do you happen to be the fellow that sold me my Omega Z5 on Wednesday. Got mine out last night and I'm pretty happy with it...lots to learn about though!

Cheers.

I bought an Omega about 4 years ago. I had the same complaint as Shotgunjoe. Primers were too small for my fingers. I found a place in Manitoba by the name of PR Bullets, that has a conversion to use .25 ACP or .22 Hornet brass(trimmed down) and small rifle primers. They claim it give a better ignition and accuarcy.
I bought the one for The .22 hornet because the Hornet brass(trimmed way down) was bigger than the .25ACP brass and easier to handle, especially in the cold. I find it alot easier to handle and prime and unprime.
As far as accuracy goes, they are as accurate as most centerfire rifles at 100 yds. I use mostly 250 gr. for deer.....Ken

I have 22 hornet conversion breech plug also...works great.
I don't know if they make the hornet one anymore...I think
they have gone to the 25acp. TC makes good stuff you
can't go wrong with it IMHO. :)

Great gun for the money and very accurate shooters. Spend a bit of time experimenting with a few loads and no reason not to be shooting sub MOA groups.

It's the only rifle I own that has shot MOA. For three shots at least,,, once. lol
I use 300 gr .451 Nosler Partition HG, 110 gr 2f T7 and a Winchester 209 Primer.

Awesome gun for accuracy, my brother has one shoots, he 200 grain Shockwaves with 2X50 Triple 7 & 209 Winchester Primer.
1 inch groups at 100 yards are the norm. Little better if he's not to shaky.

Have fun
