Hello all,

I am having a lot of trouble assembling my Remington Nylon 66, I should of never tryed to take that f**king b*t*h apart, so my question is does anyone have any experience with these rifles or know of an online resource that coule help me put it back together?

What step of reassembling are you having problems with? I think I still have my original owner`s manual, I could try to find it and scan the useful pages and e-mail them to you if you don`t solve your puzzle.

I hope you don`t take offense, but maybe someone with such a nickname shouldn`t be taking guns apart. L.O.L. :D Spoken by a sober missing link.

I have replaced stocks on a few of them that have been driven over, etc. I may still have an exploded view of them somewhere around here. They aren't the easiest to assemble if you haven't played with them before. If Sasquatch can't help you, I'll have a look around.

the real solution---find an expert to re-assemble it. They aren't easy to put back together. I thought that they were made of nylon so that you could soak them in a parts cleaner bin to clean them.

I have been published over 100 times in various gun magazines over the years and a lot of it has been how to stuff and I can tell you here and now that there is no way I could ever describe to some one how to put a Nylon 66 together. Short of a video. But, if you would like to drive to Edmonton and give my employer $60 I’m sure he would let you watch me put it together! The guy that designed that thing must have been recruited from a nut house. Odd thing is ...... the damned things work quit well. When they aren’t scattered all over the bench or in a coffee can that is. ;o) Rod

no shame in being stymied by a nylon 66. Imagine how many of them are taken apart in boxes never to go back together again.

Hmmm...all this talk makes me want to take mine apart..it can't be that hard. :D
ALL THESE STORIES ARE TRUE=DO NOT TAKE IT DOWN ANY FURTHER THAN THE STEP WHERE YOUI TAKE THE BARREL OFF- i've had mine since 69 and all i've ever done is as far as the barrel off- the manual says that's all you need to do, and remember these things are designed to operate without extensive oiling- if you've got a WORKING one, LEAVE IT ALONE-if you MUST take it to pieces, go take up some other hobby- the frustration factor is very high, and chances are it'll end up in your junk box- i've had cases where a fellow took his to pieces and put it back together what he thought was right, and you couldn't tell the diff until you compared it to the WORKING counterpart-then it became clear as to what was wrong- if you MUST modify/take to pieces/screw around with- get a 10/22
