Well go for my R-pal written and practical test tomorrow at 9am, last 2 days seemed like alot of review but also some new stuff, seem to have the handling/loading/acts/prove down pat so HOPEFULLY Ill pass it, wish me luck guys, Ill let you know how I do when I get back :runaway:

The guy I took mine from, had failed 4 people out of over 4000 (he actually vividly remembered all 4). Now it's entirely possible only geniuses took the course from him. But more likely if you pay attention, and have any knowledge of firearms, and DON'T point the any guns at anybody, you'll pass. Good luck though, it's an expensive bug you're about to be bitten by.

Me and my brother passed ours on Wednesday. So if you know the basics of PAL you got your RPAL down just a few legal things, like barrel length and magazine size that kinda stuff and remember to ACTS and PROVE the gun. Of course good luck

I only got 98% on the written and 92% on the practical. I done a dumb thing
on the practical, I turned the revolver to the side to look for the cal. info but
at least I didn't point it at anyone. Then I picked it up and waited for a prompt to perform ACTS and PROVE instead of going ahead and doing it.Nerves were frayed. Anyway I passed and felt like a dope and a school kid.

The only reason I didnt get 100 and 100 is for the practical I didnt see the keys to lock the case for transportation, so I was stupid and didnt bother asking for them

I challenged the test when I took mine. The instructor went to hand me a dewat pistol, but I said "I've been taught not to accept an firearm with the action closed". He just smiled, opened the action, and handed it to me... ;)

I think I was 96 across the board on mine. Did one incredibly dumb thing because I was so incredibly nervous. When I checked the bore of the barrel the magazine was still in there, so dumb but the instructor didn't fail me because I made sure there was no ammunition in the pistol. I challenged the test and that was my first time seeing/ handling a pistol.

I got 98% on both rpal written and practical.

The tester docked me 2 points because she said I didn't clear the semi auto before putting it back down on the bench. I did, but she must have been writing the marks down on the paper.

It was really my fault. I should have been talking out loud letting her know what I was doing.

I guess every tester is different. When I did mine, the three handguns (semi, sincle action revolver, double action revolver) were on the table and she was sitting in her chair. In terms of transporting the restricted, she just asked what document we need to legally transport a restricted.

RPAL versus PAL

Ok guys, I have had an FAC, and PAL for years, and have never heard of an RPAL before seeing it referred to on the forum. What is the difference between an RPAL and PAL?

RPAL allows you to purchase restricted firearms, as well as the regular "long guns" rifles and shotguns. Restricteds are handguns mostly, but some rifles and shotguns also fall under the restricted class.

RPAL versus PAL

Well, blow me down! I have had restricted, prohibited, and converted auto rifles and handguns for years on my lowly PAL, and I am still buying and selling them. When did they bring in the RPAL? I just renewed my PAL last April.

You might want to delete that post... ;)
