Vortex installation ??

Just acquired a Vortex FH and need to confirm installation instructions. AFAIK, it goes on without a crush washer and gets tightened to 10 ft/lbs. (ie. slightly more than hand tight). The spiraling gases tighten it the rest of the way. Is this correct ?
