Thanks. Ive never hunted in the mountains. The Sendero is a heavy.

As long as it is light and shoots well you are set. Mountains have a way of making even a light gun heavy.


Chuck Nelson, cool caliber pick. I almost had me Brno rechambered to the AI but I was talked out of it by a wise CGN member. As much as I'd like one I am glad I listened and left this one as is.

I used to use my synthetic stocked Rem 700 Mountain Rifle in 280 Rem with 139gr Hornady SST's @ 3060fps.

I have started hunting solo more often and in more remote areas so I have now switched to my s/s Rem 700 in 300RUM with 180gr Scirroco's @ 3350fps (and carry a few spare 200gr A-Frame @ 3200fps for backup).

It's the bottom rifle in the pic the top rifle is my 375RUM that I shot the grizzly with earlier this year.

I also have LSS stocks for both but remove them and install the synthetic stocks when hiking/jet boating into the back country.
