I personally think the 7mm-08 will work great for black bears...just not sure what shell to shoot? Maybe a hornady light mag? Anybody got any input? I don't reload so it has to be an off the shelf shell.
Cheers
federal vital shock 140 gr Barnes TSX would be #1, followed by Vital shock 140 Nosler Partitions and Accubonds
What about a heavier roundnose?
I have always used the same round for all large game from deer to moose , elk bear and I use a factory 175g
He is talking about the 7mm-08,not a lot of 175gr factory loads available. Most factory loads are from 139gr to 150gr.
So the 150g to me then would be the way to go
I guess I missed the -8 I like my strate 7mm more
I think I am going to go with a 150gr bullet...little more weight retention.
