The time honored tradition of sitting down with a rifle, a couple bottles of Krylon, a case of beer and no clear plan came home to me this last week. As my family has been out and away, I decided to get in touch with my artistic side. Its shallow, but occasionally needs a scratch.

Ever notice how posed photographs LOOK posed? Its a lame effect that only happens when people try too hard... About 2 beer and 15 screwed up passes of the Krylon into the job, your s**t will tend to even out and look like a professionally unprofessional paint job. ;-)

IMO, pre-cut, iron-on patterns with gloss finishes are o.k. for little kids, but some folk still prefer to paint their field guns like a man. Some will NOT agree with me, but I think they tend to be of the "paint a purple picture of Barney," paint-chip eating variety.

In the words of Bobby Bolivia:

Uncle B: Given the semi-classic nature of the car, with the slick wheels and the custom paint job-
Sam: But it's faded.
Uncle B: Well yeah, but it's custom.
Sam: It's custom faded??

Uncle Bobbie B, baby!

*EDIT: added some more photos, courteousy of the misses...

Unfortunately, we're mid packing for moving to Edmonton, so her light studio is torn down. Nonetheless, beats my crap photos. Most notable dd is the GG&G single point sling mount.

As to match up, I'll have to hit the range and tell you. I haven't actually tested the irons for zero yet.

FWIW, my front sight on this unit is a tritium sight.

We should do up a carbine shoot round-a-bouts Valleyview most ricky-tick.

Moving back to Edmonton, so my GP shooting days are definitely coming to a middle.

Backing the #### up though, 14.5"? Did you get that shaved, or is it an original 6921 barrel?

:) I know there's few around, saw a bunch on the E&E..As for a shoot in Valleyview, kinda far for me I usually go towards Edmonton & Wildwood to service rifle matches, but haven't done those for a year now. Check with M39a2, he organizes them at the Spruce Grove range.

It went SPF to a good friend.

We agreed it would be dopey to dump it. I got partially liquored and painted it instead. Grass is always greener on the other side. Wanna have a Sig CQB or carbine or an LRB M1A - TODAY! Blah blah blah. I too often wind up selling something I'll just wind up buying again, so I might as well keep and shoot the #### out of it. I'll buy the others as time goes by.

Got myself 2000 rnds of 62gr Federal to go with this for reserves in case things dry up. Its a handy carbine, and has run stoppage free to date. 55gr sucks out of the 1/7, but the 62gr has been sweet. Roughly 2 moa at 200 meters.

I have to say I like it. I took the same approach to my sg 550 classic green. I was a bit leary at first but I took the same approach and was pleased with the end result.

Soon very, very sooon!!!! (Once I get my RCOM4 ACOG from the mail that is..)

Sweet. You getting that prior to the Nov. gun clinic?

Turns out I'm moving back to Edmonton this fall. Gonna track down the contact you gave me re: SGGC. No idea where to shoot there other than Genesse.
