i have a norinco tokarev in 7.62x25mm.whenever i pull the slide to chamber a round the action gets stiff as soon as slide has contact with hammer.is this normal or this tok has some serious problem.i have fired 100 rounds through it so far.there was no FTF or FTE.thanks in advance.

While I don't own a tok, 2 of my pistols ( nz-85 & nork 1911) do the same thing. Not sure if the tok is sa/da, but if it is, thumb the hammer back, and the slide will rack easier.

thanks for the reply.the tokarev pistol is single action.i do #### the hammer before chambering a round.and this slide and hammer still has contact each other.

Not a Norinco problem. They all do it no matter which company produced it (ie, Russian, Polish, Hungarian, Chicom etc). Some worse than others.

Just take a jeweler's file or fine emery and do a really quick job on the rails (you'll see where they rub) and it will get easier. But as mentioned, don't do it too much, as it is part of the design. Only if it's too hard to be bearable to use.

Not to worry Chez surplus 7.62 will smooth your action real fast.

Heh, heh, heh.... :D Yup, that'll work, too! :p

Haven't tested it with a chrono but the S&B commercial stuff (same company as the surplus stuff) actually seems to have more BOOM factor. :p:runaway:

I've found that it's something with the hammer. If you #### the hammer before you rack the slide it's not a problem. I think someone else on the board filed the hammer slightly. I forget who or where he filed.
