Too much is never enough!

I went into Flaherty's today and purchased a wee bit of ammo.

80 of .223
250 of 12G target
10 of 12G slug
1000 of .22LR
100 of 9mm

I stored the paltry sum and thought to myself: "Not enough for SHTF situation #487, damn."

Going back there tomorrow to pick up two more flats of 12 gauge and will probably get some more 9mm hardball.

The sickness, it begins.
Who else has caught the bug, and what are the symptoms?

Pics of the disease will also be appreciated.

A little while ago I picked up 1600 rounds of .38 special....

...I don't even own a revolver....:runaway:

I have other calibers I don't own guns for...but might someday :) (buy now, it's cheaper....)

Wow, that's a serious stock pile - alternatively it could just be a couple hours at the range by myself.

Nice start...

The symptoms of the disease are repeating that same purchase once per week for 3 years. :dancingbanana:
The sickness turns into a compulsive disorder after about 3 purchases...then you start purchasing other bits of this and that. Cans of tuna by the 48 case, bags of rice by the 50 pound sack, 50 pound bags of wheat...... etc etc etc.

Carry on. :D

With the exception of 12G or if I'm in a pinch I never buy ammunition in lots less that 1000rds. Soon enough, by the sounds of things, neither will you.

You will have buyers remorse for a short time afterwards, if you spent a lot on ammo.
Then as the price goes up,you feel like you are on the winning side as you hear about how much others are now paying.
Then a few years go by, your stockpile gets low, and then you feel terrible because you didn't buy more at first.

Thats where I am now that the 4800 rounds of corrosive Czech 7.62x51mm I bought many years ago for $100 per 1000 is almost gone. I only have about 900 rounds left. Now I realize how foolish I was to have bought ONLY 4800 rounds.

You spent hard earned money for ammo you can't use???

That's ridiculous.

Like another poster in this thread, I stockpile components for my Centerfire Rifles/Revolvers. But as for 22 long rifle, if I get down below 12,000 rounds, I start getting edgy, and looking to restock. It is an illness!! Regards, Eagleye.

Meh..I carry that much in my range bag :D

Stock up the price has been rising like crazy local store here is $18+ for regular .223 winchester 20s. Picked up some assorted calibres at wholesale sports in Winnipeg on the weekend $9.50 for the .223. Wholesale Sports takes an additional 5% off when you buy by the case 10 or more boxes (any calibre) and they will meet or beat SIRs ripoff price. :)
Pete......

Left overs

I have to remind those that do not stock pile....when you need the "stuff" cause you ran out..in demanding times of short supply(WSHTF) you will be paying the price..I never thought 38 special could be worth so much!!!

Just think...a hand full of .22 could be worth a GOAT!!:dancingbanana:
