New to rimfire - Ammo question

Hey all,

I'm looking at picking up a Remington 597 for plinking. Even though I live out in the country, I do have some neighbours.

Would subsonic ammo cycle a 597 OK? How about Rem. CeeBee's? Just trying to cover my bases in case noise might be a problem.

If noise might be an issue you might also want to think about whats or who is beyond your target or what ever your shooting at.

Subsonics will cycle
CBs will not

Uh based on my 10/22, with CCI ammo, I figure it'll be the same for the 597.

Probably not, but you never know in this day and age.

No one beyond the target, only to the left and right.

Subsonics are often too loud for urban areas..they just lose the supersonic crack...

I should probably clarify...

I am out in the country, but there are other houses, the nearest about 150m or so away. Plus, I am not far from an area designated as no-discharge in the Ottawa By-Laws...

Just wanting info so I have a couple of options for ammo.

With a slight breeze I doubt you would hear regular velocity ammo @ 150 yards.

You could... talk to your neighbors and see if they care.

Personally I'd just shoot until someone tells you to stop.
