I have seen semi auto BAR 1918A3 rifles for sale in the US. Does anyone sell these in Canada ?

Doubt it , but it sure would be interesting.

I had the pleasure of getting behind one of those brutes a few times , had to been 30yr ago.
It was an original which was altered to semi auto , 20rd mag
We would shoot across a farm field at a old refridgerators , stoves and a few car doors , 300 - 500yd out.
It must of weighed 25lb and that big ol' 30.06 had the recoil of a .223

Ahhh...the good ol' days....
...I think I'm going back to bed and cry.

Had a quick look, couldn't find a FaRT listing for one.
Perhaps no one has made the effort to import one to find out if it would be acceptable here.

Pretty sure that these use a new, purpose made receiver. They also fire from the closed bolt. They have passed BATFE inspection, so are seriously semi-auto. The only reason that the receiver could fail RCMP inspection would be if it uses rewelded parts of an original receiver.
I suppose that the procedure would be to 1) purchase one; 2) register it in Canada; 3) apply for a Cdn. import permit; 4) send the Cdn. import permit to the licenced US exporter, so they could apply for an export permit; 5) arrange for a carrier for transportation; 6) pay taxes. A Cdn. importing service could be used, to simplify the procedure. This pre-supposes that the RCMP would issue a certificate, and that US authorities would issue an export permit. Perhaps it would be worth a call to the RCMP. The techs are no doubt aware of this firearm, perhaps there is already a ruling on its acceptability.

I'm seriously thinking about importing one of these from the US. Just tried calling the CFC to get an idea what's involved but the line line up is too long. Will try again later.

Just had a look at the mfr's website. That receiver is new made; there would not seem to be any particular reason that the rifle would not be acceptable.
For someone in western Canada, the gunshops who do export might be the best way to go.
Complete rifle: US$3500
Receiver package: US$2000. (Great for someone with a 12(2) or 12(3) BAR.

So who's bring these bad boys in?

lets ask Marstar! I asked about a semi-auto Bren, but they said the only one that was made didnt fit their criteria or something.

Since it is not a sporting firearm, I have doubts that the US would allow export. Same goes for the myriad of other semi-autos like the M1917, the semi auto vickers etc. In fact, I doubt you will see anymore semiM1919A4s or M2 50 cals coming in from the USA.

The ones you've mentioned are belt feds though. The BAR is mag-fed, and doesn't have those fiddly bits they don't like like pistol grips and retractable stocks. I don't even see a flash hider there. No reason this can't make it in if the Remington 750 can make it in, right?

I have made a few enquiries regarding these and have been told that they will be available in Canada soon. I was not told who the importer is, only that they are coming.

Demand for these is high in the US, considering the limited production runs that they make, and the dependency on accumulating military parts kits in sufficient numbers. There is quite a wait for them.

Can't tell, you are just going to have to be patient.

Looks like a lot of effort goes into making these things. The reciever apparently undergoes 56 machine operations and eight hours of debur work. Looks like a serious piece of equipment, I want one too.
