Some politicians in the US are using this as a lead up to their anti-gun spout off.
I hope you guys are talking to your hunting buds, and helping them see the light, that ANY attack on firearms, regardless of weather it's handguns, black rifles, or whatever, will eventually lead to the loss of hunting guns.
I know, there is on the board here, an attack on "Fuds". Well, we all know they exist. The guys that don't worry about gun control, 'cause it doesn't affect them personally.
Usually, it's the guy that takes his rifle out once a year to go hunting, and lets it rust in the closet for the rest of the year.
I hope all here realize that a handgun ban for example, just strikes one more firearm type off the anti's list. Once it's done, they move on, probably to semi-auto rifles, and so on.
I know, we all go hunting for a holiday, and we don't want a fight, but, if you can get a discussion going, lets get them at least thinking about it eh?

how long after a total ban do people think it will take before bows and crossbows are banned aswell. with a field point on the end of an arrow or bolt, it will go nicely through body armor of whoever is wearing it (minus the steel plate of course).

if a compound bow or crossbow can kill an elephant, what do people think it can do to a human. its just the natural progression of mean and evil things to ban in the eyes of politicians.

Just look at UK, they are even trying to ban knives, because the gun ban works so well.

Your right, a gun is a gun, no matter why we shoot them we all need to fight together.

Okay guys. I 'm sorry. I wasn't going to do another rant here , like i've done before, so many times, but i can't help it. In my hunt camp, and others in my family, who all hunt, i'm the only member of NFA,CSSA,NRA,OFAH.These people will not take the time to even view canadiangunnutz. They ##### about the price of shells, liscences and the rest, but at hunting time the booze expense is unreal. As Johnny says , their guns rust all year, but in the end they just don't give a damn and will not get educated. They keep saying that a gun ban "can't happen, it'll ruin the economy". They don't even know much about that. Some hate black rifles and handguns and actually AGREE with David Miller and co.I guess i'm a lousy communicator or something. They laugh the whole thing off and say i take it all to seriously.I'm afraid the only time they'll listen is when it's too late. Unfortunately most gun owners in Canada are fudds who see it the same way. Sorry for the rant.

Yup, I get the same thing Magnum. People don't understand the progression of bans or don't know enough in general to worry about it.

Amazing isn't it? If we don't become better shooters and hunters we're going to be at risk for hunting as well. Last season one of our guys hit a doe on the run at 30-35 yards, in the guts. Win 94 30-30.WE didn't recover the deer. Okay, it happens sometimes. Ya ready for this, that was the first shot he had fired ,since he killed an 8 point buck in..........1999!!!!. 1999 to 2007 and he hadn't fired a shot!!!Now this is one great guy that i love to hunt with, but he just doesn't get it. If the doe wanders into to someones back yard and dies, our image as hunters gets blown away. I think the problem is, that a lot of these guys don't realize that things have changed, pollitically speaking. The days of bringing a deer home tied to the trunk of your car is done.As gun owners, hunters, target shooters, archery shooters, we somehow have to make people aware. How?I don't know.
