Thus far mine has been 100% reliable and quirk free. Only thing I'm questioning is if the new STI model will have any genuine improvements, or simply badge engineering?

Frankly, the only thing I'd like to see improved is the weight on the double action, and even that isn't bad except when compared to the SP01 Shadow.

I love the grip and the angle. It points naturally for me and is damned accurate if you choose to use the bumpy things. I may at some point upgrade to the fiber optic sight, but don't feel any urgency.

In talking with Sean at FV, it sounds like GP and STI may see the light and come up with 10 round mags that are not laser cut.

Anyone else shooting the GP6 or K100 in IPSC???

well, the shadow can utilize lighter hammer springs,..which will lower the hammer spring pressure in DA,.and SA. If the companies offer lighter hammer springs as a factory option,..you will be able to use those in production division.

How is the sight recovery on those guns? Is it faster than the glock?

I guess it's subjective, but I find this gun feels like it cycles fast. The rotary barrel lock up gives it a very linear feel without some of the bump of the Browning style barrel lock up. As I'm somewhat of a giant, it doesn't move a whole lot in my hands. The trigger reset is minimal, as in tuned 1911 minimal.

To put this in perspective, I'm just back into IPSC after an 8 year absence, and I'm nearly ####ting myself with nearly one patch double taps. I expected a little more a-c and am quite pleased with the number of a-a on my score sheet.

My father is going to be one of the first in line for the STI GP6 when they arrive at Freedom Ventures. I'm sure that for nearly $200 more then a used K-100 STI must have made some useful adjustments. Or maybe I have too much faith in Texans ;)

On another note, what are you using for a holster?

Any holster made for the Glock 20/21 will do. I use the Uncle Mikes Kydex.

I've tried the original K100 and was sold on it, except the very unfortunate, for me, placement of one of the rivits... The left rivit of the slide lock was digging into my left thumb the way I was holding it - it's just something which was a problem for me, but it was enough of a painful annoyance that I didn't go with it...

The gun was great, ridicously short reset, reliable, etc. I had some feeding issues in very specific circumstances, but we got a hold of the designer, and that got worked out... So, if the gun fits your hand and nothing rubs painfully against bones/joints, go for it...

This summer when I went to shoot Polish Open, best Slovak Production shooter Ernest Nagy was using K100. I ask him to let me play with it and I was very impressed. It feels like smaller CZ IMO. I ask him, what he thinks about GP6? He said, this gonna be a gun which will make a lot of guys switching to.

It's not a rivit, but instead a solid stainless pin. I don't have any trouble with it, but it could probably be polished to reduce the protrusion.

I'm loving mine more each match.

right, I didn't know what it was, just a piece of metal sticking out, and in my hands, in a very annoying place :) But the gun did feel very good, and the reset was just amazing...

Ya, it's kinda scary at how nice it is out of the box. I think if you're looking for a steel frame, the SP01 is near perfect, but if you like polymer, the K100 really should be on your "must try" list. It just points and feels so much better than the Glock for me.
