Hey guys, shotgun newbie here. I've got an 870Police with just the front bead sight. I want to switch up to ghost rings sights, what are my options aside from the $250+ Wilson Sights? Thanks in advance for the replies!

On a side note, are there any cheaper options? I'm sort of also looking for something very simple, even simple rifle type sights is fine by me. I just want something to actually line up with.

Has anyone made a rear sight that actually lines up with a front bead? That might be an odd question but I really dont see why it hasn't been done.

I suggest the Trijicon Trac-Lock (available @US$109. retail from Brownells # 892-004-004 ). These are the exact same product as the Wilson you mentioned. They are three-dot, rather than just one. The best part is that the wholesale price is less than US$100. so no export permit is required.

I have two 870Ps with ghost ring sights, installed at the factory. They have a Wilson Combat TRAK-LOCK rear-sight, and an XS tritium dot front sight. The XS tritium dot sight is much better than the TRAK-LOCK front sight. This setup is excellent.

What base does the XS front sight sit on.
Is it a factory dovetail ramp?

Trying to duplicate this setup on a new barrel as I all ready have Wilson/Trijicon rear.

I have XS Ghost Ring sights on my 870. I paid around 150 for them from Tactical Response Gear in the states. That was last year though and it may be more difficult getting them in now.

Thanks for the pic.
Looks like the Brownells part

Are you sure that front sight has a tritium insert? I've owned a couple of 870P's set up like that from the factory and they both had a white dot, not tritium. And, FWIW, Remington uses the XS front instead of the Wilson because it fits into the dovetail that is already on the front sight ramp that comes on the 18" barrel. This makes it a lot cheaper for them to manufacture. I'm not saying it's bad, I Just don't think they chose it because it is better.

I had Tactical Ordnance (http://www.tacord.com) install a set of Trijicon tritium sights on my 870 last year (you can contact member Arwen Ace here if you'd like). I think they're the same as the Wilson sights and the price was certainly right. They did a great job with fast turnaround.

I think it is just the white dot, not tritium. Comparing the two, XS vs. TRAK-LOCK, it was just my opinion that the XS is better. It is far more visible, and gives a better sight picture.

Trijicon sells the Scattergun Tech Trak-Loks with tritium front and rear for $99 on their website.

If your looking for something a little more local than I believe that Tacord (as already suggested by Master-G) has the best prices in Canada on these sights, I've heard the installation cost is quite reasonable as well

+1 on TacOrd - he runs a nice ship over there. Remember, you can't really silver solder the fronts on yourself... the heat from the soldering can destroy the tritium vial, and TacOrd removes them first... how, I have NO idea. :)

briefly considered ordering the Trijicon Night Sights, but the single screw adjustment for the rear sight looks pretty crappy. i like how they advertise it as a 'feature' though -- as if it was some uber added value instead of just a cost-saving measure
