When I was in the reserve, one of the pipes had the SSF crest on the banner

Of course, you can't get more pure-laine than being Qebecoi.... err... Acadian.
I find it very interesting that Quebecers are constantly chest-thumping saying that their 1608 founding of Quebec represents the first settlement in North America, etc., etc... I suppose Isle St. Croix in 1604 and Annapolis Royale in 1605, both in French Acadia, don't count since they were outside la bell province...

Sorry, Claven but my Mother was from Baker Brook near Edmunston, NB. So I have bragging right to both Quebec and Acadia. Quebec City Bragging rights are for continual occupation of a site, Acadia settlements where destroyed by some Bostonians and their Foreign Masters, very important detail for Acadian descendants like us . One of my Father's friends was a member of the SSF, transfered over from R22nd Regiment in Italy the pay was better he said.
