2008 Quebec Provincials

can someone post results or provide some report on the match,...? Much appreciated.

My thanks to all of those who set up and ran a great match. Well done!
I had loads of fun shooting it, and really liked the free-style stage designs. Any chance we can get a link to the results page?

Also, if anyone found a small zip-lock baggie with some screws, springs, and other assorted small items in it...probably on range three...I would love to discuss getting it back. I think there may have been a small bottle or red Lock-Tight also.

I swear I would forget my head if it wasn't attached.

Phil,

why You guys not post scores yet.
It is a level III match, scores should be posted right away.

On the good note,
great match, great weather and even hamburgers tasted good.

Greetings

Ok, going from memory, overall results were:

Open - Alex, Rob E
Std - Pascal, Roman (CZE shooter), Sean
Prod - omen, Karl, either Phil C or Phillipe (sorry for the spelling :) ) - don't remember this one, sorry!
Rev - Hugh

re match itself - apparently the ipsc PQ guys only had half the usual worker/helper crew for the setup, so they had to cut down on the visual candy which is typically associated with this match. The match was much more technical in nature, much less "glamarous"/"jazzy", if that makes any sense...

Most of the stages had an "obvious" right way(tm) to do it, so there wasn't a lot of "hmm... how do I shoot this?", but that doesn't mean that executing that plan was easy...
There was shooting THROUGH hanging soft-cover curtins, Cooper tunnel with a drop turner at the end, bunch of door activated moving/dropping/swinging targets, a rotating wheel of targets (similar to what we've seen at East Elgin), a pretty fast slider, etc...

I'd say that overall the character of the match was somewhat in the style of the Kingston nationals - challenging, overall, technical match - a little bit of everything...

The weather cooperated, other than for maybe 20min of rain near the end of sat, I don't think there were any other issues...

That's all I can think about... ohhh, apparently someone complained last year that the meat was too pink, so all that was offered at Bearbrook for the awards dinner was 'well done' (dry) meat, of only 1 kind, together with the President's Choice veggie mix "salad", with some soup which Quigley said "smelled like feet" - the quality of the food at the banquet was sub-standard, I thought, BUT that's just Bearbrook, nothing to do with the match staff :)

One interesting thing which came out of this match is that there is a new junior Prod shooter in Quebec, just got his black badge in May, and finished this match (his first level 3) at 84%.... Maybe another Mike B, in the making? :)

Bah, never mind. It had slipped to the bottom of my range bag and somehow made it's way underneath some ammo boxes. Couldn't have hid it better if I had done so deliberately. I emptied everything out and turned it upside down before I found it.

Sucks being blind.....

When you guys do, can you PM me the password so I can get in or put it in a public area? Thanks!

haha, that defeats the point of the password, hehe :)

Hey, for Ont purposes, maybe email it to Quigley/BUd ,and he can post it on the ipsc ont site in the usual place?
