j/w if we will be able to own revolvers in .327 federal mag since i belive there chambering 5" and 6" barreled revolvers in the cartridge the round is however ."32 caliber" thus making it prohibited right????

Edit: sorry, didn't read the full post. I hope .327 gets approved when they do start making 5 and 6" barreled guns for it. It's a nice little cartridge.

.32 cal is prohib, I don't see having a "7" on the end making a difference. I sure hope though.

Is there any actual reason why .32 calibres are prohibited, or is it just one of those laws? I don't see how those two numbers make the ammunition more dangerous than anything else. I'm just one of those people who expect laws to have actual reasons justifying their existence, which brings me to question why I'm still living in Canada.

Supposedly rooted in the "saturday night specials" or whatever the media term was for .32 and .25 cal pocket pistols......

Probably they meant to get all the 25 ACP and 32 ACP guns, and due to piss-poor wording ended up getting all pistol chamberings in those 2 bore sizes.
Oddly enough, 8 mm Nambu is a .32 but not banned.

I dont make this s**t up, I just report it.

It seems really stupid when you see an 8 3/8" barreled S&W revolver that is prohib because it is in 32 H&R Mag caliber. Everybody knows that is one of the favourites of gang members and other "bad" guys, just another dumb law.

And 32ACP is a .30 caliber cartridge. Nobody ever claimed the Justice Dept knew what they were doing.
