I am looking for a a few thousand .45ACP cases, preferably Winchester, is there any dealers in Canada that stock .45 brass? Marstar offers mixed nickle and brass, mixed headstamps, BDX is usually out, anyone else out there wanting to sell a guy some brass?

Question, is there a difference in the large primer vs. small primer .45cases when it comes to performance, is reloading the same using the smaller primers. I shoot Glocks that all use small primers, would a .45ACP case with small primers be the way to go for me to keep things simple? Or does tradition dictate that I go with the large primers?

Looking forward to everyone's input.
 
As far as the question about large versus small primers.
From what I have heard there is no difference . However , they cannot be mixed while reloading. If you can load either one then just make a choice but IMO I would stick with all small or all large.
 
I have used both small and large pistol primers in my 45 reloads. There is no noticeable differences as far as my load is concern I prefer the small pistol primer holed brass for the reason that I dont have to change the primer bar of my reloader from small to large and vice versa.
 
I've bought it from Lebarons before in bags of 100. I think it was something like $25 bucks per. This was from their web site and it was a couple of years ago.

This is one of the reasons I want to stick to standard small pistol primers, I have in excess of 30K, and don't feel like stockpiling the large ones as well. Glad to hear that the small primer cases have no issues in regards to reloads.

From my experience SPP'd .45acp cases are a PITA. Why Winchester went with them is beyond me. Performance wise there are no issues but you will find far more LPP .45acp cases then small and .45acp cases last a very long time. If I were you I would buy once fired brass in LPP and be done with it. Changing the primer bar doesn't take all that much time.

Lebaron and Higginson's both sell new Win brass. As for once-fired, I don't know of any place that will take the time, or has the time, to sort each individual case.

As for Large vs. Small... no difference I can see. Since nobody wants the stuff, I pick it up as much as I can and use it in my match ammo. That way I can just leave the stuff there instead of chasing after it. Same with my older cases and unknown/weird stamped cases. The guys who pick up brass after the match know what's keepable and what's not so it just goes into the metal recycling bin.

Is all the new Winchester brass small primer or large, or is there a choice? I might just buy some new stuff and be done with it.

It would be nice to have the small primer pockets, keeps loading for all my Glocks using the small primers which I have lots of.

As far as I know, the new should be all Large Primers but don't quote me on that. I've never needed to buy new 45's yet (TONS of 9, 40 & 45 lying on the range floor).
