Looking for some advice as to what common ammo patterns best out of a 28 inch modified choke 870 barrel.

I will be using it for duck so looking for a 2-4 shot size suggestion (steel)

also for geese so a bb or bbb shot size suggestion (steel)
(full choke too)

finally for phesants (lead) and shot size up to suggestion as well as maker/load.

Thanks.

In my gun Remington Nitro steel Patterns very good, but you have to shoot your gun on your own to see what patterns good and what doesnt cause what patterns good on my gun or anyone elses may not pattern good on your gun.

Steel #2 or #3 for ducks. Steel BB or #1 for geese. They give better patterns, but must be used inside 40 yds out of a modified choke tube.

You really have to get some large sheets of paper and test for yourself.

Shotgun patterns vary with every shot, even out of the same box of shells.

You have to find a good average you're satisfied with.

It takes some time, and you cant always find a quick solution here on a gun forum.

You'll need to invest some time and work at the range to see what works for you and you're shotgun.
