Just wondering how you guys are making out with yours XCR's? Mine is from the original Wolverine import and I have not had any problems so far. I don't get to the range much anymore so my skills are not what they were, but it can hold near MOA (1.15"-1.23") at 100 yards on surplus. A better shooter could sqeeze some nice sub-MOA groupings out of this thing. I could not stand the factory stock that came with the rifle (too short), so I switched to an adjustable CAA stock with cheek piece and a CAA grip with mutiple inserts (these are nice!!!). The EOtech setup is new, but I have not had a chance to try it out. I'll try and post a decent review of the EOtech and 3X magnifier when time permits. :)

nice set-up. I would like to get some dark earth colors for the rail guards.

my only negative thing to report is the trigger. It is ok,...but could be better. Breaks clean ok.,....but is much too heavy IMO.

I agree about the trigger, but you do get used to it. As for the reciever end cap for a carbine stock, I ordered it right from the factory after I recieved the rifle and tried it out. I ordered it before I even knew about all the importing regs. I have to admit I'm not sure about getting one now, but it cost me something like $70 with shipping and it was well worth it.

I really want to love these rifles in spite of the less than perfect reviews. How many rounds has yours seen?
Would you trust your life to it?

It looks great.

I too wanted to love these rifles but was thoroughly unimpressed with it. Maybe I just got a lemon, but it was nothing but problems from day one.

I have one of the second batch that came in, no big troubles with mine, just a few easy fixes. Front heavy (FUK C-68), trigger's first stage is heavy but got smooth with use. Great controls, I swapped the A2 grip for a MIAD and the stock changed for a ACE SOCOM with a folding adapter from Robinson that I bought earlier. Topped it with an ACOG TA-11F in a larue mount. Shoots about the same groups as you with American Eagle, UMC are leaning towards 2 MOA, Winchester white box gets in between and I have yet to try Hornady TAP or PMC. A real fun rifle.

Hey finally some enthusiam but I do feel for you I have had a few lemons in my time too.

I actually have found that PMC is what shoots best in my XCR. Approaches the 1MOA mark. I think with some good handloads you could do even better.

that's a nice xcr! I have one from the original batch
I love it and she runs good I would trust my life to it
All I need is a stock adapter like you have

I hear a few guys have had problems and that sucks as it is an expensive rifle (even worse when you have a chronic disese which make you want to endlessly mod your rifles). Mine, however, has not had any problems in about 700 rounds that have gone through it. The trigger is just starting to wear in (a good thing) and it is barrell heavy, but since I mostly bench shoot it's not a concern.

I have about 1500 through mine. Likely more then 2k by the end of the week. The first 300 round break in was a little problematic, as said in the manual, but after that, it has been smooth. I doubt I am qualified to tell what an Ideal rifle is to trust my life with, but I have taken it on yote hunts. If the rifle broke, it could wreck the day. I am as confident in it as I was with any of the Sigs I had, but the XCR is easier to shoot for me.

wow Armedsask, that's glowing praise coming from you :D;)

Mine's a second batch rifle, it's just broken in (offhand I'm going to say 400 rounds) but no issues during break in. Hopefully I'll have more time and $$$ to shoot it more in the near future.

I figured I may have been a little harsh on the old girl. I think mot of my hatred came from such anticipation. After spending countless hours to basically turn my AR180B into what XCR was. It appeared to be my dream rifle and I couldn't wait to get one. Then she let me down.

ahh, just givin ya the gears. :)

Besides, I know squat about the mechanics of it so in my case ignorance could be bliss.
