Well, I did it. I crossed over into the darkside  Thought it was time for a change. I owned a .17 HMR back when they first came out and sold it.

Here are some pic's. I decided on the 4200 4-16X40 so I went out and bought it yesterday.
I also got an email with pictures of the 1717 HB they will be sending me. I asked for the one with the nicest wood they had in stock.

The pictures are not the greates but it looks like the wood is pretty nice for not getting Meister Grade. The fellow mentioned that this one had a nice darker color to it rather the the brighter colored straighter wood grain most have. Not bad.:bthumb:

Yep, decided to take the pluge :D. I can't wait to get it!! If it is anywhere near as accurate as my Anschutz 1712 then I am in heaven.

I just got tired of my 10/22 Magum. Yea, it shot good and looked really nice but the slaming back of the bolt took my eyes off what I was shooting at.
I wanted something that had no recoil and extended my range.

And from my previous experience, the .17 seemed to have a bit of an accuracy edge at 100 yards.

Can't wait. Hopefully there as still gophers out next week.

Well, she is here but I haven't been able to shoot it. It is a really heafty rifle, nice fat barrel. Looking foward to her maiden voyage. I purchased 1500 rounds from P&D which, by the way, were awesome to order from. I placed my order on Tuesday at 1pm and had them the next day!!!!

Pic's to come soon:slap:

Wow. You don't fart around, do you?

Nice rig. Watch the groups tighten up after the first or second box (at least that what it was for my Savage). Try the .20 grain and the .17. Seems it's one or the other for each gun.

Lovely wood by the way.
