ODPL Multi-Gun Match - Sept 27th, 2008!

I've been to a mall ninja match before by accident. Don't worry, I won't be at this one, I stopped playing "make believe" in grade school. This is just the type of stupidity we don't need during an election. Whats wrong with a match that just tests your shooting ability, without using any childish fantasy themes that do nothing but degrade the sporting aspect of whats going on. I'm surprised to see a CSSA director promoting/condoning this type of event.

This multi gun match will test anyone's shooting ability but also add a little humour and fun. In no way does this degrade the sporting aspect of whats going on.
 
"how do you figure a few guys shooting "zombies" will effect the election?" The Gun grabbers surely wouldn't find a way to use that against us. But hey if you think running around in in full combat gear killing zombies is good for PR who am I to object. So do you all have code names when you shoot and load your mags wearing latex gloves so the cases don't have finger prints on them?

Oh don't worry, I have fondled my guns, gear, mags and ammo enough that even when it is game time my finger prints are so plentiful that no amount of latex gloves can help me.

I get a bigger laugh at the stone faced goofs who show up and take everything so seriously.... I mean really, usually they're the ones who pooch stages 'cause things don't fit all neat and tidy into their little box of what they're used to.

Ohhhh.... I see. It's not "you" that can't shoot... It's the "stage" that can't be shot well... :D
 
your right, shooting silhouettes of people is much more PC. since when has shooting a gun been pc?

Certainly you are smarter than that.

The "GUN GRABBERS" are just that. They do not want you to have ANY guns what so ever!

Sure they MIGHT let you keep a SINGLE SHOT RIFLE, break action shotgun (double) and a bolt action pistol.............MAYBE but that would be ONLY for Olympic type shooting.

RUNNING like you do with a handgun? VERBOTTEN>

Loading MAGAZINES QUICKLY!! ............VERBOTTEN!

Just try shooting IPSC with a single shot bolt pistol.........YEEE HAAA


They do not care WHAT we do they hate us all equally.
Do not fall into their trap of determing GOOD activities versus BAD activities.

As long as

1) it is safe

2) it is FUN

That is all that should be concerned.........

As storm said, they want the whole thing and will make stuff up out of whole cloth - we don't win by altering our behaviour to suit them, since the only thing that suits them in the end is having no guns at all.
 
Only two weeks left.

9am: Two slots remain
11am: Four remain
1pm: All 8 remain
3pm: All 8 there, (4 tenative)

I will be informing the squads the week prior. Suffice to say that no one has been bumped to a secondary squad.
 
HOWDY, HOT DARN ! sounds like a cowboy matchs with semi s . I will be Chuck Norris Texas Ranger . Bring a N frame 45 colt .Winchester 97 pump , that SLAM fires , and a 45 colt lever rifle that holds 14 shots . Wear a brown creased hat and a long duster . sling a double set of mex canvas shotgun belts over my shoulders and carry a dozen speed loaders with pockets full of 45 colt ammo , and of course a marine K-bar and tomahawk for them up close and personnal final touchs .
Bring it on ! I will be your HUCKBERRY !
 
Flags, no slings, postponed matches without e-mail notifications ... WTF...

We sure didn't have these problems when Mike ran the matches.

There were other problems, he isn't around anymore, and if you want to run a match with slings, balaclavas and launchers please do so - I'll show up and so will others. Until then, clubs set the policies and sometimes jerk around on the dates.

As for email notices, the guy that usually distributes them locally had a stroke, and had not shared his email mechanism in advance. I understand he's recovering nicely.

http://odplonline.org/events.shtml contains the date, and is flagged as a date change - that's your best source for info.
