Rem R5 recipes

Collected the recipes below from here there and everywhere. Comments?

Recipes for 150gr, 165gr, 180, 200gr?

Recipes with Benchmark or H4895?

Recipes for hunting (non SMK)?

Anyone crimp or neck-size only?

• 168 SMK 43gr IMR4064 2.800

• 175 SMK 43gr Varget 2.800
  
• 175 SMK 44gr Varget 2.810

Looks like wont need to try different OAL than 2.800

Also looks like the rifle likes loads closer to min than max.

well with all thise loads I guess your set! I wish mine had shot with those loads

My R-5 has finally been shipped to me from Frontier.I will be starting out with Varget and the 175gr matchking.I will be testing with various COLs,and I won;t be crimping.

Only thing is, I have a significant number of 165s and some 150s and 180s, no 175s so was hoping to see some loads with that an will first see how those shoot. Will let you know.

Nice to see some consistency between the rifles as to what they like. I also hope to use it hunting which will probably be the Hornady's SST or Nosler Ballistic tip (have the Hornady so will try those first). Got CORE 20 years ago now hopefully some time to use it.

My R-5 has finally been shipped to me from Frontier.

Will likely be impressed with fit and finish, far nicer machining than other Remys. Was a little surprised how light the butt of the stock is but contributes to good balance point.
