Vz 58s or a CZ 858 4V

Which of these are the better purchase????? I was going to buy a shorty, but wich one should I buy????????

Help me decide fellow gun nutters.................

The VZ 58s is $595 from marstar

the CZ 858 4v is $650 from wolveriean Supply.

I need some info............................

VZ58s is restricted. has a chromed bore. range only
CZ858 is not restricted. does not have one. anywhere, anytime (where legal to discharge a firearms.)

the 4v is restricted.

yes, the cz858-4v is restricted and the cz858-2 is not .

so your comparison are both rest , both got chrome barrel , minor diffrences in barrel lengths and front sight hood (some has full) , maybe even minor trigger internals .

you should buy from wolverine if they still have the promo , they throw in a extra set of mags ($150) , if not , then they are no difference bcos -4v comes with a metal side folder .

Sight hoods are normal production variations. Depends on which one comes out of the parts bin. Open sight variation (most likely represents a product improvement over the closed type) seems most common.

What are the barrel variations between 58s and 858-4V of which you speak? Seem to use the same NOS 58 bbls.

CZ does a better finish and uses more "new" parts than the CZ Hermex product. CZ also gives you a manual and a test target.

Can't take the restricted version to the fall hunt camp!

You never know when a bear might wander in, right?

"Say Ji-had!"

Mind you...if you choose to duracoat the cz-858 its 2" too long to fit into a normal oven to bake the final coat on...honestly, I just tried. :(

it fits in my oven , cant it be placed in an angle with the grip removed ?

are you sure that's a cz 858? Mine was stripped down to the bare receiver and barrel...either that or you have a non restricted oven, and apparently mine is the evil black short chambered oven...Next thing you know Miller will ban my oven, or they'll start the oven registry, and mine will be RESTRICTED!!!:mad: Seriously though, the hardest part of the whole project has been getting the steel insert to fit into the upper FAB Defense Handguard.

CZH 2003 has a 3 position selector, the 858 only pivots 90 degrees.

Externally it's most Vz. 58-like

both my cz858 pivots 180 degrees.
