All around shotgun....?

I'm not bashing these higher end guns by any-means, just trying to figure out... "why?"

Are you 10grand and up guys friggn mental??
Nope. We just appreciate fine shotguns.

If you don't get why these guns are worth what they are then by all means keep enjoying whatever gun you might have. Nothing wrong with that at all.

For some people no explanation is sufficient. For others no explanation is necessary.

ok, Claybuster is not nuts

REM3200...you havent answered yet. (but I suspect you may be after you just edited your msg to sound tuff)

Hey, I'm not asking you to justify your passion to me, however, I did ask "why".
I'll take your advice Claybuster... "If you don't get why these guns are worth what they are then by all means keep enjoying whatever gun you might have."

I'll move on now

I have the pleasure of shooting a friends $12,000 "ceaser guarini" (my spelling may be wrong), quite often. I cant help but tell him he had too much money to blow...then I proceed to shoot more clays than him every Sunday with my M58 Sportsman!!! hahah

Did it ever cross your mind that your friend with the $12,000 "ceaser guarini" may not be a very good shot? or that you may not be a very good shot either and you just beat another ####ty shot? In any event your hahah sounds a little like envy and your friend, well you are not really his friend?

Are you for real? You've never laughed at your buddy because you beat him at something? I had a 5 litre Mustang in high school and my friend raced me with his Volkswagen Rabbit and won. Do you think he didnt laugh at me for about 8-years??
And your right, his shot sucks and so does mine, so its even steven
And envious?, well, if one fell on my lap, I'd keep it

See, this is why I ask if the 10g guys are nuts.

Well there josh1976 I would be a relative yougster in the clay shooting games with ten years invested. I have several nice guns in the Browning, Benelli and Beretta guise and that total isn't at the 10k mark yet for the combined group. I like shooting and buy what I want when I can afford it.

Would I buy more expensive guns if I could afford them - probably.

Get past your case of peni* envy over what other people have and go enjoy the sport:stirthepot2:

See, this is just like my Sunday morning "performances", except the guys I shoot with think I'm funny and buy me Tim Hortons:)

I dont know what "peni*" envy is...is it eatable?

"total isn't at the 10k mark yet for the combined group." phew...your not nuts then.:D

So what is your point? If your 5 L Must could not beat a VW bunny, you must suck as a race driver as well? To me it seems that you are a bit judgemental of how your friend spends his money? Envy? What I don't get is what is the difference between a 5 L must school kid and a 10g gun guy?

It's an honest question and reflects that you don't know why a shotgun is worth that much. You could take the time to find out but I seriously doubt you'd be interested in actually knowing and are more keen on boasting how you shot better than someone with a more expensive gun. If that is your primary accomplishment on the clay fields it is a small and insignificant achievement. Enjoy it as you see fit.

Sounds like you have been eating a lot of it. :)

"Point": It's ok to laugh at your friend (if he is laughing too)

"Race car driver": Never claimed to be one. This is what we call a "analogy"

"Judgmental": Yes...you are emotional

"Envy": This is a good quality which has contributed to the successful evolution of all mankind

"Difference between 5 ltr and 10k gun": One is a car, the other is a gun

Your right. I like you Claybuster, because you make sence and are making a serious effort to know where I'm coming from.

However, I pride myself in my primary accomplishment and "boast" only to the fact, that I have fun and enjoy laughing at those who I beat, because in all reallity....I dont get to laugh much. :)

I have said nothing to directly offend anyone here, just shared a few experiences. To the contrary, like my signature says, "I've never met a gun I didn't like"

Hey guys!

My only shotgun is a Norinco Model99 Coach gun and I love it! I finally took it out for a Trap shoot (my second trap shoot) and I hit 28 of 50 targets. I would have hit more, if it wasn't for the shooter....:D

Anyway, being new to shotguns, I was wondering what is an affordable all-around shotgun for someone thinking of getting into hunting? I would prefer something in a black synth stock.

Cheers!

Berger

For starting out with a synthetic stock I'd suggest sticking with the Norinco and get yourself an HP9 ! Get yourself a smoothbore and rifled barrel and you're set to go.

Gee wizz that hurtz! Emotional? Maybe! I should feel put in my place but I am too busy laughing at you or is it with you? Who cares! You're the guy that asked why? As if anyone who could afford a 10 g gun or a 10g anything or even someone who can not afford one and got one anyway has to explain anything to you? Pure and simple, you got a bad case of envy. You should channel your frustrations into bettering your game.
