Feeler - Falcon Menace 4.5-18x56IR

Will these have the 94 percent light transmission lenses like the 4-14x 44mm and the 1.5-5x 30SIR? Or will it retain the 92 of the regular 4-18x 56mm?

I happen to really like the illuminated reticle after playing around with my 1.5-5x. I think this would be a good seller. I'd consider buying one.

I am assuming since it is built on the original architecture that it will be 92, but I will check.

Looks like we will be bringing a few of these in on the next order. I just have to confirm how many we can get.

It would make sense that it would be the same. Although it would be a smart move to up it to the same level as the others.

Good news and bad news.

Good News: Both the IR and non-IR model now have 94% light transmission.
Bad News: Unfortunately, I can only get two IR models in the next order and they are sold.
Good News: The next batch is due around Novemeber.

Good stuff. Smart move on their part as well. I'm liking this Falcon company. They've got it together and are on the ball. They need to get their varmint scope up to 20x next and not much will be stopping them.

I'll looke into the IR ones come the next batch. Might have to put one on my Ruger mini14 target. ;)

CyberK...have you heard anything from Falcon? as I've found a few things that might seem bad news for the scopes.

We regret to inform everyone that Falcon Optics has canceled all 4-14×44mm scope orders. Here is the official release from Falcon:

“We have been studying and testing them for faults since they got to us on Tuesday. We are now satisfied that the optical standard of these new models is consistently poorer than that of previous models. We estimate that around 95% of these units are not up to the standard of the previous models. Some are significantly poorer, most are slightly below average.

At the moment we are exploring the possibility of a major defect in the optical glass, or simply that the incorrect grade was used.

As of now we don’t have an ETA on when replacements will be ready, hopefully we should have some details by the start of next week.

We understand that you have pre-orders for this model, we are truly sorry for the inconvenience this is going to cause. In that sense it wasn’t an easy decision for us to make in stopping this batch from going on sale. Having said that, we would prefer to miss delivery dates than supply product that we know to be below our best quality. We simply cant supply equipment knowing that its not 100%.”

Falcon Menace Quality

Is this an old report? It was not dated. The release of the Falcon Menace FFP was delayed previously because of quality concerns. The latest batch is just ariving in the UK. This may be old news and nothing to do with the current order.

Cheers,

Bill

You can count me in, one in standard.....I hope this isn't an old post, like quoted from above....

WOAH!!! That is old news.:)

That order was cancelled/postponed due to a screw up with the optical blanks used on the 4-14x44FFP. The problem has been resolved and that order is on its way to us now with a new batched that passed QC.

As for the links to the 4.5-18x56 breaking, first I heard of it was today. Kinda hard to believe it happened by "just firing two shots out of a .308". We haven't had that problem with any of ours.

I just found that thread and was wondering if it was recent or something from the past.
Good to know they fixed it!
I'll be getting a scope soon from you guys aswell.
