CIL Model 402 Stock Replacement

Wasn't sure if I should ask here or the Gunsmithing forum but anywhoo,

Looking at getting an old 16ga CIL model 402. I haven't seen it but according to the owner it has a "small" crack in the butt stock, among other cosmetic issues. So heres my question, are replacements available or will stocks from another manufacturer fit?

It's obviously a project gun, and for the 50$ he's asking I don't think I could go wrong. I just don't want a cracked stock!

Why not try & repair the stock with epoxy, then maybe strip the old varnish & refinish with TruOil.

Didn't realize it could be repaired, I had always thought that the options were to replace it or be stuck with a crack. I'll have to look into the epoxy option. The refinishing part is the whole reason I am buying a POS gun, want to try my hand at stock refinishing and barrel re bluing.

Check out West System epoxy at Lee Valley. Read the instruction book as it works great for stock repairs, bedding and boat building. I've repaired Biathlon rifle stocks with it after some major crashes. Good luck.
