new FN-FAL?

Only maybes left are the FN-SCAR and the Keltec RFB;

Well theres the Robinson Armaments XCR-M and the Magpul Massoud as well as the Swiss Arms SAPR as well and don't forget the LWRC SABR. All these rifles have a chance of making it in as long as they are marketed as 308win's and have fixed stocks except the SAPR it can have what ever they want cause we don't have to bring them in through the US.

The DSA-58 FAL, of which I own 2, is not only a FAL in every way by virtue of it's design, but DSA actually purchased the original machining tools, and original metric blueprints from FN years ago. FN itself could not produced these rifles anymore even if they wanted to.

These rifles are made on the original, yet retooled using higher quality components, and upgraded to work with finer grade steel (Forged 4140), machines, that the original production run of FN rifles were manufactured on. Since DSA uses much higher quality metallurgy, coatings, springs, and hand production techniques, the DSA-58's are not only the last FAL's to ever be produced, they are far and away the highest quality FAL's to ever be produced.

So, in short, I don't think the Canadian Government is going to let you guys have them. They are not only FAL's, but Super-FAL's. My medium contour molly-chromed barrels, for instance, are OFFICIALLY rated to 80,000+ rounds, and would probably easily do over 100,000+ rounds. Sorry guys, I don't think it's going to happen.

remember guys.........The FN was banned as a result of the rash of bank robberies, murders and mass shootings that they were used in. ( note my sarcasm)

the first step in understanding any firearms law in Canada is that is does not have to make sense just make some douche bag feel good and powerful when the law comes in.

spirit of the law? ..........nobody cares.

that should set of alarm bells in the mind of a free thinker.

sure, but thats the reason something new has to come along, rcmp aint gonna help us in getting it off the prohib list.

oh, and corpus......im a tad jealous.

be aware its Mounties mandate to enforce the law not make it

............as for my post i was just being bitter (i really wish i could own an FN as it was the first military rifle i was trained on )

It's not meant for that, but to show anyone who hadn't seen that rifle, up close, that they really are FAL's in every way. I don't see why you can't have one, except for the fact that you guys need to tell your government "NO" more often. I see you guys talk about this stuff all the time. The thing that bothers me is how you guys talk about it. Fear is the over-riding impression that I glean from how Canadians discuss gun politics versus what I see in my home state (Texas). Everyone here seems busy trying to "save" their gun rights, and walk on eggshells, instead of "telling" the anti-gun est. to "F*ck Off!" You don't "ask" for your gun rights guys; you have to "TELL" them that you will be "TAKING" you gun rights, and if they don't like it then we can meet on a battlefield any time they're ready. If they tried in the US what the Canadians have already done, we'd have shootouts in the streets here. Americans, and especially Texans, by-and-large, are very much of the "I don't think I'll allow you to arrest me today" mentality. Time will tell.

So true.

Someone needs to make a moderized FN49 with FAL mags. So it wont be a variant of a prohibited rifle but a variant of the FN49. ;)

Still undecided if doing that to my FN49 would be worth it though. :(
