I was hunting south of Regina on Saturday when I run into these fellas. They were sitting on a little pond. I snuck up on them through the bush, I got up, and started shooting. One shot, one duck.

The weird part is that not one of them took off. I'd hit one, its head would drop in the water, move to the next until they were all done.

Why didn't they take off after the first shot?

No, there was no yard or house around, just wild bush. I know you're joking, but you had me going for a second. Then I saw you're in Alberta...lol.

Well they dont look like "fellas" to me lol. But I'd guess maybe it was the first time they've been shot at maybe. Didnt quite know what was happening. Did any have pinfeathers?

Most of them are drakes that haven't colored up yet. Xman's shooting can be summed up in two words:

YOUNG and STUPID

Not you Xman -- the ducks. They are all immature birds hatched this year and have never been shot at before. They'll be tasty and tender.
