just wondering if standard aluminum weaver bases and rings are strong enough to handle a 300 wsm. i'm guessing it shouldnt be a problem cause these bases and rings have been around for yrs and are seen on alot of 300 win mags.

My favorite "weaver style" setup is Burris/Leupold/Warne steel bases with Burris Z rings.

I prefer the one piece Tally's

aluminum weaver bases are fine, although they wear faster than steel so in the long run i still think steel is a better investment if youre going to be removing your scope frequently.

as for rings - inexpensive aluminum rings suck.
at the least get a set of burris zee rings - theyre only $20-25.
