Can Anyone Tell Me About The Browning Hi Power Double Action?

The BDA is essentially a Hi-Power with a double action trigger - there's really not much more to it. At one time, the Hi-Power was hugely popular with police forces in Europe but it slowly got pushed out of the market by the more modern double action pistols. BDA was FN's effort to make the Hi-Power competitive again. The effort to win new police contracts was largely a failure and the BDA has never been particularly popular with civilians, so the gun was discontinued.

Should you get one? If you already have a single action BHP and want something similar but in DA, go for it. If you don't have a BHP yet, get the classic model.

I had a BDM and sold it 6 or 7 years ago. Now I kind of wish I had kept it. I sold it because I did not like the trigger, particularly in the DAO (R) mode. The trigger pull was long and mushy. Single action mode was better, but not as crisp as my cZ 75. The BDM was comfortable shoot and accuracy was good. Mine digested every round it was fed with nary a bobble. Magazines were an issue as they were hard to find and expensive. The BDM magazine was different from the P35 magazine. If I see another BDM, I just might be tempted.

What TEKARRA said the trigger pull was a little long(you can put your tigger finger behind the trigger, plumb through)the 1 inch grips are so thin that you usually get too much trigger finger.

That was what made me shoot so bad with the first one I had and sold, when I wized up that it was me and not the pistol I was pissed.

I found another like new in ser# box with three 15 ,and six ten round mags, leather in waist holster, and uncle mikes for 375.00 shiped I jumped on it!

Just use less trigger finger on it and it's a real jewel,it's really a Browning (sig)type lock up.

I really like mine, hope you get to handle one.

Bob:)
