Just took delivery of a real gem , Uberti 1873 carbine in 22lr and what a beaut it is.It goes to the shoulder with ease and feels and carries like its big bother.Have found out Uberti made a few of these back in the 70s , why they don t make them now is a mystery to me because I think they d sell like hotcakes.Will post pics of it later tonight

I think the .45 version was "uber"-popular....

One of my Cowboy Action Shooting rifles is this configuration, chambered in the "uber"-popular .45 .....

Here is a pic of the butt.It has the trapdoor for cleaning rods.It loads through a sliding loading port in the barrel much like other 22s.Winchester did make some 73s in 22 and they are as pictured though some wre rifle versions
