Round count for 3 gun @ Barrie

Round Count for Barrie

Hi folks
I just talked to the MD for the match and the round breakdown is as follows:
Shotgun
Slugs – 32
Shot – 20

Rifle – 45

Pistol – 72
Hope everyone has a fun day.

Mike

So how was the first day............

Weather seemed to be good.

How were the ground conditions?

weather was not bad, cool in the morning and very pleasant the rest of the day. no mud.
Mental note, must buy managed recoil slugs next time. 1700 fps slugs not fun to shoot after more than 5 rounds. one stage had 16 slugs. long shotgun stage, have to make sure you have the correct sequence of slugs versus birdshot in the mag tube. And for your enjoyment, a long range (60 yd) shot at a clay on the long range rifle course. good luck on the match...

Well that was a lesson in recoil management!!!

The rifle match was a hoot, although i discovered a clay pigeon at 60 yards was a bit of a challenge for my iron sights. It was agood combination of accuracy and run and gun.

The pistol match was well balanced with some movers and steel, and lots of movement.

The shotgun match was fun, but bloody brutal. 32 slugs over 3 stages!! As Squibload mentions, managed recoil slugs are on my wish list for next time.

What a great day!

EESA sent a contingent of 5 shooters and we had a blast!

One of us was a newbie to 3 gun and I think he might just be hooked!

Thanks to all who made it a typical Great Barrie 3 gun!

As to the slugs.............Lower recoil is certainly a help. My 15 year old son had no problems with the slugs we were using!

I just hope we can get the plans in place for our "special" three gun event some of us were chatting up.

Barrie three gun

Shot the match on Saturday and RO'ed the shotgun stages today. Lots of fun, I would agree that low recoil slugs are the way to go, especially when there are thirty-two required for the shotgun stages.

To Storm and the crew, glad you enjoyed it and good to see you are introducing new shooters to the three gun. I had a good time RO'ing you guys. Hope we can work out the "divorce match" for next year.
Mike

P.S. Storm I received your PM and I agree, no intent, just not thinking.

Well done to the Barrie crew. All posts point to the fact you hosted a good match. Great to here the standard is being maintained.

Cheers
