Do any of the sponsors sell them or are they all the cut down type?

also, any recommendations on brands for a lower to use with a vltor upper and possibly an hbar upper as well?

I'm getting into the AR game:)

Thanks in advance

I know Questar can get you a LMT standard or enhanced bolt/carrier but it could be a wait.

Not much of a difference between a S/A and F/A but the heavier your bolt/carrier the more recoil you'll have.

If you want to lower recoil, for fast follow up shots, go with a compensator along with a skeleton bolt carrier and a lighter recoil spring.(Questar?)

Hope that helps

when you lower the reciprocating mass the felt recoil will be increased. a heavier buffer, spring and carrier will lower the felt recoil. more of the energy is needed to move the carrier, lowering felt recoil.

Well let me explain.

The compensator is important because of the very initial recoil from the bullet will be greater but over the whole cycle of the gun less recoil.

Once the shot is fired the energy is transferred into the recoil spring (compressed). The spring then pushes the bolt/carrier forward. (Newton's law equal and opposite force) While pushing the bolt forward it's pushing back on the butstock. A lighter spring and lighter bolt reduces the force here.

The over all cycle produces less disturbance to the sights.

thanks guys,
what is the price difference roughly. Would the FA have longer life cyle if all else was the same?

The weight difference between the two is minor (less than an ounce if memory serves), you'd be better off switching buffers if your looking to add more weight.

Life cycle would be the same, in fact, I've never heard of a carrier ever wearing out, the bolt key, yes, but that's easily replaced.

ETA: Most people will try and charge you an arm and a leg for a FA carrier just because they are no longer importable from the US, and because they're "cooler" than the semi variants. You have to decide if the extra cost is worth it for you since any performance gains will be negligeable or in your head.
