I was at the range today and I decided for fun to try a 5 shot group using Winchester USA 55 grain el cheapo specials.

I normally use these to make sure scope is "ok" and to warm up the barrel before I move on to testing custom loads but every now and then I get surprised :)

This was taken at 200 yards, Remington 700 SPS Varmint (completely Stock)

the first shot was down and left so I adjusted the scope and took the remaining 4 shots.

PS: used a bipod and sand bag back rest.

it ain't a super great grouping at 200 yards no but for the cheapest Factory ammo you can find and for a newbie shooter I don't find that grouping terribly bad :) might just be me but I thought it was ok.

they are Winchester USA 223 Rem 55GR. Full Metal Jacket.

8.72$ per box of 20

Question is, would anyone or any living animal know the difference at 200 when you placed your shots?? I doubt it... Your groups need only satisfy your intended target area and intended engagement range. Anything better is a irrelevant.
