Hey guys just pic up a new norc 1911 and i would like to know what you guys would recomend to make it better and shoot straiter, open to suggestions. Here are the parts that I have purchased but have not installed yet.... wilson combat slide release, wilson combat ambi safety, exted mag release.

Send it to Armco, have Gunnar put a Norc package on it, get him to put on Novak Competition sights and your Wilson stuff and you're laughing. Maybe have an S&A magwell on it, but that's it.

Yes, you might find a marked improvement in your triggerpull simply with the exchange of your mainspring.

Replacing the factory sear also will do wonders. I used a Chip McCormick on my first Norc and the difference it made was literally like night and day.

I had a norc 1911 that I couldnt get to shoot worth ####, is was completely stock though. I sold it for what i bought it for. Descent guns at a great price! Depends what your looking for, and like many have said, if you tune em up they are great. Let us know how it turns out.

is it posible to import small parts for the 1911 from the states like main spings? Olso can you recomend a good 22lr conversion kit?

Yes, these parts may be exported by a U.S. State Dept.-registered exporter (such as Brownells), provided that the total wholesale value of firearms parts does not exceed US$100. (in a given order). Or, if you prefer to buy from within Canada, you can get all STI parts direct from Freedom Ventures.

Freedom Ventures has STI .22LR conversion kits in stock now.

Wolffe does a pretty good job, I just received 2 sets for my Commander in less than 2 weeks and as long as it's under $100 they do everything for you.

PS: that's with the cheapest shipping possible.

I don't think there is anything to gain by replacing the mainspring. Talk to Gunnar, first. Personally, I replaced the hammer, sear and trigger and sights. I also replaced the grip safety and installed a flat mainspring housing along iwth a Dlask Match grade barel and fitted bushing. I had Dlask do the work on my A1 version. If Gunnar is busy I would not hesitate sending the gun to Joe. He does great work as well.

My Nork will hold 1" groups at 25 yds from a rest which is about as good as it gets.

Take Care

Bob
