can a scope be put on a Win. lever action that ejects out the top of the receiver? If so, what scope mount is needed? Will the rifle perform the same?

I have to ask, why would you want to put a scope on a lever action, even worst on a top eject? It's like painting a Porsche cammo  I've actually seen one:puke:

Its for my Dad. He's old and can't see too good, and I'm tired of hearing his shot in the morn. then him coming back to camp saying he missed the shot. I offered to buy him something new, but the old man loves that Win 32 SPL.

A peep sight might help a lot, like a Foolproof.

As the eyes age, it becomes very difficult to see the target, the front sight and the rear open sight. With a peep, only the front sight has to be seen.

But a 3X scope would be better.

Get him a 94AE in 356 or 307. The Angle Eject is similar to his rifle, but ejects to the side so a low scope can be fitted.

I have a Marlin 336 in 35 Rem with a scope on top. Something like that would work, too.

I note that the EE Forum here has a Win 94 in 307 and another guy has a marlin in 32 Spl.

Top eject Win 94's use a side mount. Puts the scope on the left side of the rifle. Your da will have to get used to that. There is a forward mounted base that uses the rear sight dovetail and two screws in the receiver. It'd need a long eye relief scope.
Plan 'B' would be a red dot sight. Epp's has a Weaver base for them. It also replaces the rear sight(likely the same base) $49.99 each.

Thanks guys! I think I might just suck it up, listen and hope he hits what he's emptying the gun at. I guess I'd rather him shoot and miss then not see anything and stop coming out.
