Could somebody give me a link to Barnes load data for this particular bullet calibre combo? I have their data for the 30-06 but need it for my new little friend. I guess you need to be a copper club member to access that info off their website.
Thanks
Randy

Barnes data is under 'Technical' on their site. You'll end up with 604shooter's link. You need Adobe Reader to open the pages. It's a free download from Adobe of all places. Add the W's. .adobe.com/products/reader/

The data on the website is very limited, but then so is the Manual #4 in some ways. Odd powder selections for some calibers. If you don't have some of the selections they used (generally a series straight out of the powder burning rate charts one right after the other on the charts) they can be tricky to use very similar burning rate powders NOT listed to work up loads - density and case capacity become real important. Their bullets can be real long for the weight and you can wind up over-compressing loads way before you reach target velocities. If you need data from the newest manual that shows powders not used on the website, give a holler and I'll send what you need, IF it's in the manual.

BTW: Just got in from pounding off a whole bunch of 120 TSX's in the 7-08. Several different combinations and nothing to even start with - nothing showed any promise at all. (Same thing happened in my .243 with the 85 gr TSX's - trying to get into the velocity range I expected and nothing good at all. All over the place). The 140 (7mm-08) Accubonds with IMR4350 were astonishingly accurate. I just don't have a load in any caliber yet with any Barnes bullet that I'd use. Think I'm sticking with Noslers from now on.......

What did you try? R15 and 120 or 140 TSX always seems to work for me and the folks I've talked to.

"...nothing showed any promise at all..." Could be that your rifle just doesn't like that bullet weight. Barnes' test data for their 120 TSX indicates a 1 in 9.5rifling twist. That may be the issue if your rifle has a slower twist.

It's my new "crappy truck gun", a Stevens 200 w/ a 1:9.5 twist, exactly what they recommend. Suspect it has to do with the minimal bullet/neck contact. Using exactly the same prep, resize and seating techniques I know this - stick them in an inertial puller and the bullets come out way too easy for my liking. Made me abandon the idea of seating further out with those grooves, for hunting ammo. Problem is I like the bullet weight and my gun will do as it's bloody well told....eventually.

Used Varget (starting to really like it), H4895, and IMR4895 the only ones in their manual I had on the shelf, all medium loads +/- up to 1.5 grs in 0.5 increments within the recommended ranges and seated as per their suggestions.

I had a 7-08 Ackley improved that was fussy like your rifle. It failed the "group" tests with several supposedly good combinations using the 140 TSX & TTSX. But when I switched to W760, things really started to come together, with a couple of 3-shot groups going under ½" at 100 yards. I have since found two other combinations that work very well, and all are in that burning range, so I will go with what works! Regards, Eagleye.

My first 7mm-08 was very ho hum w/ IMR4895, Varget, H380 and H414. Tried 139, 154 and 162 hornadys. Then I tried R15 w/ both 139 hornadys and 120 tsx, and groups went from 1.5 moa, to .75. I havn't chronoed the loads, but I suspect they're up there. Now I'm starting to work w/ a second 7mm-08 and you can guess where I'm starting.
