bass pro in vaughn mills as strongbuilt commanche climbing stands for only $144 which is what some of the normal permanent style stands go for. seems like a well built unit and im going to give her a whirl tomorrow. not a bad deal considering the next cheapest climber was going for $300. buddy at the store said they have been having trouble keeping them in stock.

I would spend the extra, and buy a quality stand.A budy bought on of the Bass Pro ladder stands.and the ladder collapsed when he was climbing down, and it resulted in a back injury.
Good stands a rarely cheap, and cheap stands are rarely good!

We bought two of the cheapy Bass Pro ladder stands ($69.99) a couple years ago so we could make sure the placements for permanent stands would be correct at the camp. They have been excellent solid units. They are sturdy, unless your 300 lbs  & very stable once attached to the tree. I would strongly recommend the ones we bought :)

Agreed I've also bought the $69.99 ladder stands from BPS and have been happy with them. Any first hand knowledge of the powerbuilt commanche would be appreciated, looking at getting one too.
