My Bassett Machine Mount review
Took my newly scoped M-305 out to the range taday to test the claims of the Bassett Machine Co., that of returning to zero after removal and reinstalling.
My M-305 is mounted in a JAE100 stock with a Falcon Menace 1.5-5x30mm scope. Ammo was Norinco green box stuff.
The day was a beautiful 23°C, with barely any wind.
After zeroing @ 100 yards, I removed and reinstalled the scope mount four times per the instructions.
The bullet holes look a bit odd 'cause the target wasn't tight against the backer board. Kinda hard due to the 2000+ staples
.
These are the results:
1st re-install
Yeah, I flinched a bit. 3rd shot if I recall.
2nd re-install
The 2 circled shots are the first ones from my sight-in.
3rd re-install
I think I was rushing these a bit.
4th re-install
Not too shabby. There's 5 shots in there!
After finishing @ 100 yards, I decided to see my group @ 25 yards.
I was holding on the center of the cross.
At the end of the day, I could easily ring the 300 yards gong. The scope mount was holding true and at no time did it come loose. For the convience of being able to remove the scope and mount for storage and knowing that it will shoot this well upon remounting, I think it was money well spent.
Just my $.02
