HELP! Bought a compensted barrel and dont know how to assemble this...

Nothing missing from what I can see, it uses a standard recoil spring
Place spring over guide rod, place reverse plug over spring, pull back until you see a small hole in the guide rod, place a bent paperclip into the hole, release plug (slowly) insert assembly into slide.

That does`nt look like a recoil spring and guide rod for a 1911 type pistol ,i had a caspian with a reverse spring set up and it did not look like that. May be the spring goes over the tube from the flange and the back of the round disic on the the rod but you don`t have the right spring.
Maybe you should e-mail Double Tap or Freedom Ventures they deal in race guns that use that type of recoil system.Sorry i could not be of much help good luck with it.

It does not work like that.
The reverse plug is to big to slide into the spring and the spring is to big to slide into the reverse plug i have tried it with over 10 different 1911 springs.
If you do what you suggest the spring is all bunched up and wont let the slide back.

ok and the quest continues to get this compensated pistol working... I gave up on finding the small spring and... got a wilson combat full lenght guide rod and reverse plug for colt goverment style...
Now I can assemble the spring and guiderod and reverse plug goes together beautifully but... only problem is it wont fit in the pistol now... the reverse plug is to big... I looked at the instuctions "to allow the new plug 70 thousands needs to be milled off the slide apron on the notched side. The cut needs to be true to the 90 degree rails..." I guess this means gun smith...
Ugh this is getting frustrating the one that came slides in the hole perfect but I dont have the proper spring... now I have one that uses the original spring from the 1911 but it wont fit.

Woh ! How long have you been around. I called clark and they said they dont make the mystery part and if they did it was from a very long time ago and dont have the spring...

If that was directed at me, not that long, only since about 1988 or so
I used to collect modified 1911's and still like getting my hands on old custom parts when I see them.
Could you send me a picture of the whole comp assembly as you bought it ? I will see if anyone I know stateside recognizes the builder.
