I have the aluminum one from Wolverine and it seems to be machined off centre. Anyone who have one of these is yours the same?

I'd like to know if this is normal before I install and shoot it.

I can't get to my SL8 at the moment, but I will have a look tomorrow. The tabs may look off center because of the external mag release button. Is the hole for the mag centered between the inside edges of the tabs?

I just double checked the picture you have posted against the other conversion kits we have in stock.

They all appear the same as the one in the picture. I assume they are built up thicker on one side due to the mag release.

If you have any issues with function, please don't hesitate to discuss it with us.

Best Regards,
Bryce

Thanks Bryce,

I see what you mean by the button but the extra thickness is on the wrong side.

I just took calipers to the magwell and the opening for the magazine is off centre over 1/16 and it appears to be out of square (although I'm not entirely sure about the square measurement). I'm not saying that it won't work as SKS-Ds work and the mags in those are almost 1/8 too low. I'm just a bit concerned about using this magwell as the SL8 is a high end rifle and I don't want any unusual wear to occur; especially since the rifle is polymer and the aftermarket piece is aluminum.

FWIW the actual G36 magwell is centred.

This is in no way a slight on Wolverine as I know they just import the parts from the US and their customer service is known to be excellent.

Not according to your picture.

Acrtual thickness of the magwell is 3/8 on the non button side and 11/32 on the button side. The tabs are another animal all together. All in all the dimensions of this thing are kinda odd. To be honest I expected more considering its almost $200 for the part alone. I don't think I'm gonna run this part on the SL8, something about the quality makes me nervous considering the value of the rifle. My main complaints are:

-magazing opening not centred
-a lot of excess material making it rather heavy for what it is.
-SL8 mag release must be removed for it to fit on the rifle which if you look at the part is entirely unnecessary
-Machining is a bit rough

I'm gonna try the Hera magazine adaptors insead I think.

FYI this part is made by elite machining.

Any success sourcing the HERA MA-15 magwell adapter? I've been trying but not having much success. Nothing from Arms East or south of the border either...

The asymmetrical part causes the magazine to sit off center. So much so, that I only had to remove one side of the tabs in the reciever for the AR mag to sit fully !

Seems to feed ok, but its not the best machining for a $200 part
