My take on the SL8.

I got all excited only to find the used ones priced within 4% of a brand new one. A couple listed for more then new even.:confused:\

But I did find someone that had new and in stock at least. Just a bit more then I was thinking right now, lol.

Its like buying anything else of value. It will tend to hold it.

There were a couple SL8s went through the EE early/mid summer priced around $1700. Man, that was a deal! I bet the guys who picked those ones up are still grinning from ear to ear.

When you can buy the same thing new easily and without waiting having it priced that close to new doesnt make any sense. Whats 100 bucks on 2000.
To have new over used that some cheap piece of mind.
And buying new I can get airmiles too.

For 1700 or even 1800 then I would look at used. For 2100 plus shipping on something that retails for 2195 with free shipping.... I dunno.

That's still a really good deal. I'm pretty sure mrsp is $2400 usd.

Quick google search found them for 1800-2000 new in the US.

Concidering how large the cost difference normally is from US to Canada though, you are right, thats a good deal still.

Here is the way the SL8 sits now.

Leupold 2-7 scope is really nice and a good fit for this rifle.

I ordered a PSG-8 stock for it, I can't wait.

It pivots. Its actually very nice except for the fact you can't change the height. Best part though is that when folded it tucks out of the way for off hand shooting. Whether or not its worth the price is up to you though.

How much is it?
And is the height generally good?

Height is great. You're generally looking at $300 for one.

As long as the height is good then its all good. And 300 really isnt that much more then a good bipod, and at least it fits the rifle real well.

Seriously though, its your fault I want one now, lol.
Just trying to decide new, or slightly used... Well and if I need to sell my P99 to justify it to myself. lol

Once you add the bipod and a folding stock you're at the same price as a PE-90. :(

Yep, the SL8 doesn't chew the poop out of the brass though. Like I just told a friend the SL8 likes to hold its shooter tight in a gentle loving embrace, something the Germans are known for.

Does the PE90 come with a bipod?
