Not sure of the brand but that is one of the first generation of Laser sights. Rather than using a solid state laser diode (shockproof) it used a glass tube as a lasing medium containing a mixture of Helium and Nitrogen (Gas laser - Read Fragile). The beams were very dim compared to todays standards, they ate batteries quickly, and gas tube life was very poor.

It's amazing how far things have come in 20 or so years.

This is a great answer. It never ceases to amaze me the resource this board is.

There is (of course) an entry for this movie on imfdb, but it doesn't address the laser sight. The info up there seems pretty good though:

question is, why would the Terminator a machine, need a laser sight. Does he not have a reticle built in and excellent hand eye coordination??
