The other afternoon, on the way into work, we saw a bunch of ravens along the dirt road we were on. Okay, somebody was camped there, we had seen them the previous week. Obviously there was something there from a kill and so we stopped to check it out.
Sure enough there was a moose skull (bull, the antlers cut out) and legs from a whitetail deer. No problem with those things.

But we get looking around the campsite and there was ####ing litter everywhere! An old air mattress, beer cans, pop and water bottles, plastic bags, cigar and cigarette boxes. We were pissed off at the cretins that had done that.
The next night on the way to work I was still stewing about it so me and the co-worker pulled in there and cleaned up all the garbage. We took it and put it in a trash bin at our work site.

It really pisses me off that among us there are SCUMBAGS that cannot bother to clean up and haul out their garbage!

I say to these people #### OFF AND STAY THE #### OUT OF THE THIS AREA!! Pull your head out of your arse!! ####ing losers, cretins, morons, etc...

Another thing; we're going down the HIGHWAY and there is a big sign there with a bunch of fresh bullet holes in it. Jeezus Christ! 1,000 hunters drive by that sign but 1 ####### has to stop and punch it full of holes! It gives all of us a bad name.

Again I say to the morons that do that, #### OFF and get a life! There are a millions trees and stumps that you can shoot and nobody would mind that. And if you can't do that then stay home.

####ing morons...

End of rant. :kickInTheNuts:

Know exactly how you feel. I'm always picking up other peoples garbage . It has gotten much better IMHO but there are still a**holes that litter everywhere. Good on you & your buddy for cleaning up their mess.

George

I must bow my head in shame I have shot a sign before mind you it resulted in a 3" 3 shot group @ 460 yards so I'm going to forgive myself this time...

This sign was an advertisement for a private company way out in the middle of no where and as far as I was concerned was the same sort of garbage that you described was laying around in that camp.

Why people figure they can put up signs wherever they want out in the bush is amazing to me.

Yes I took it down after I shot it and recycled it with my garbage.

A lot of the back country is filled with this embarassment, especially the shot up signs. The trunk road is real bad, folks shoot up signs on blind corners, I am amazed no one has been shot driving around the corner yet. :slap:

As you point out, they are not hunters, they are scumbags. They fall in a niche next to poachers. They are both just as helpful to our favorite pastime.

Any of the camps we stay stay at while hunting or even just camping in the summer we bring work gloves to clean up what other poeple won't. I love garbage detail on my holiday.......

That stuff makes me sick. We see a ton of it in southern ontario as one can imagine, most can be removed with some elbow grease and garbage bags. most of the time our bags are half full of timmies cups.
What I don't get is why some people just dump old appliances, furniture or vehicles in the bush. What are these morons thinking.

when ever I find that I dig through the garbage to see if I can find something that could identify them, like an addressed envelope, then I can go 'return' their lost belongings on their front yard :p

If the garbage dumper can be identified by the contents of the garbage, contact the RM office, and RCMP. They will take the time to phone the individual and charge them with littering. My buddy found this out when he lent his truck to his daughter's bf. The little bastard dumped his business garbage just outside Saskatoon. The police contacted my buddy, who forwarded them on to the kid that did the dumping.

that kind of thing increased up here TENFOLD when the dump started charging tipping fees on anything. Appliances went up to 25 bucks, old car 100 bucks, etc. Cheap bastards started plugging up the green spaces just outside of town with all kinds of household garbage. They said it was in protest. Dumb fukkers.

I have returned garbage to someones house before. They usually have a stunned, then a sheepish face when you present their garbage to them.....good times. I like the RCMP and RAPP ideas too. The fine in SK of $1400 is not enough. Take their vehicles too.

Don't mean to hijack, but around here if you take your metal appliances and old cars to the scrap yard you GET money for them, not to mention all the scrap scavengers offering to pick it up for FREE.

One of my most serious dumping experiences was a load of roof shingles dropped at one of my favorite hunting properties.

The gate was left open at night so I could check my coyote traps, and some "entrepreneur" took advantage and dumped the load in the middle of the field, behind a hill, where you couldn't see what they were doing.

Just lights going in and lights coming out.
The land owner thought it was me!

I hate those littering B@$+erd$.

I can't stand any jacka$$ who will litter and polute OUR beautiful country side.
I'm constantly picking up garbage when i'm out in the woods.

Great idea if you can identify the person littering with a licence plate number and such, then call the police and report it.

I once came across about 100 lbs worth of greasy pizza delivery receipts. A quick look showed which little ceasars they had come from so off I went. I arrived to find the place full of highscool kids. My intention was to carry the 2'x2' box full of recipts into the store but the bottom broke as I was trying to open the door. I figured my work was done. I can still see the manager running angrily towards me but being unable to open the door to his outlet as there was a pile of receipts stopping him.

I know how you guys feel. It turns my craw when I'm driving up the ice road, not far from the tree line, when in the middle of mainly pristine wilderness I find chicken boxes, Horton's cups and, yes, even a ####ty diaper.

Normally, I pick up all the trash but I must confess I opted out on the ####ty diaper detail. For those who know this area I found this treasure just after the Gordon Lake turnoff to the old Discovery Mine. Put a real damper on the day.

before you made your miracle shots, did you think of what was behind the sign? it must have been there for a reason. did you go downrange to see the backstop?

Sorry to say but after flying around Whitecourt for a summer I'd have to say most everyone around there is a redneck asshat that can;t pack a garbage bag.
