Butler Creek mags no longer imported...?

I don't know, I asked John at Le barons today about it they are out but he said it was the distributor that they buy off of stopped bringing them in. So they must wait for someone else that they deal with to distribute them before they can get them.

He had not hurd of any export ban.

here is everyones answer straight from the US tactical Inc website.

CANADIAN CUSTOMERS: WE WILL SHIP MAGS TO CANADA PER THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES: US Federal ITAR regulations allow us to ship orders valued at up to $100 USD WHOLESALE to Canada PER TRANSACTION, not per shipment.

That's 4(yes, 4!) composite magazines wholesale. I paid about $90 total for 2. Not cheap, but work and look great. Patience was needed when adjusting them though. Afterwards it's bang bang bang...

According to my local shop, the Butler Creek rep informed them that the company can no longer export their 10/22 steel lip, or any high-cap rimfire mags into Kanada.

....... "If you see 'em, buy 'em!" They're no more

....

I don't believe this rumour. Everywhere i have been has them. Al Simmons had lots today. Why the panic? Is the BC salesguy getting a commission? Go buy them... I will order from the states, another brand. I'm tired of rumours.

This is not just a rumor as it comes directly from Bushnell who owns Butler Creek. The US govt will not approve the export of hi cap 10-22 mags in the future. They allowed current permits to be filled but wont allow any further exports. When we heard the news we bought every mag that was available and currently have a good supply. The same thing happened with the foldingstocks a few years ago. Phil.

.....todaso kids.... I fuhkin' todaso ;)

lotsa mags

I just got back from a trip to WSS in Calgary. They had one of those pegboard type displays on an aisle end......
There was 18 pegs with 8 mags (Butler Creek 25 rnd mags for 10/22s) on each peg. Do the math and thats 144 mags waiting to be bought. Who knows how many more are inthe back warehouse.

Drove there to buy a Remington 597 (they had 16 in stock) due to Edmonton not being able to get one shipped from Calgary since I ordered it on Oct. 4th.

Why do lame rumors keep popping up around here? I posted proof earlier from a US vendor, no such rule exists, I think some people on these boards just thrive on drama.

There are also new rules (change in the interpretation of enforcement actually) in the US where a distributor/store must have an export permit along with all of the manufacturers of the products they want to export. If Butler Creek doesn't have an export permit for a controlled product, then the $100 rule doesn't apply to the distributor/store.

A lot of stores are not aware of these new interpretations.

I just got back from Cabellas in Winnipeg. They had a large supply of the hot lips mags in stock.
When I went to the Wholesale Sports there they only had 10rd steel lip mags in stock. When I asked the lady there if they had any of the 25rd steel lips she said their order hadn't come in yet(2wks away). When I asked her about the ban. She had no idea what I was talking about.
I'm just wondering if there really is any truth to this or is it rumor?
I'm assuming if P&D says it's true, than it is?

This so called "rumor" was confirmed by two distributors that I get Butler Creek from and my Bushnell Rep. The fact that there is product on the shelves in Canada at the present doesn't mean that it is not true. I went through the same arguements a couple of years ago with the ban of the folding stocks where people accused me of trying to drive up sales. Come back in 6 months or a year from now and see how accurate this information is. Also check the prices of mags that will be for sale at gun shows in the furture and compare them with the prices available now. When the US had their "assault weapons" ban in place a few years ago and restricted the Butler Creek mags in the US , we had enterprising Canadians buying up mags in Canada and trying to sell them in the US at $100 or more, Phil.

Phil Phil Phil

Why do you even bother with this mass of idiots,

1. you called the wss sale accureately notwithstanding the uproar and catcalls

2. you called the folding stock stuff accurate

3. you always try to pass along information to the shooting public (ie idiots)

I called saturday and asked to speak to one of your friendly and knowagable staff and Dianne (who answered the phone asked if she was not good enough) told her politely but firmly that her staff should answer the phone, she laughed and said they were busy. Bought 2 of the mags in question and said put 3 aside and I will be in on wednesday so 2 or 3 if you are not sold out(gee leave some for the others)

SO IF NOT SOLD OUT THEN NEST WEEK i BUY 12 MORE AND SELL THEM TO THE IDIOTS AT THE CALGARY GUN SHOW IN APRIL; for 100 bucks a bloody pop

look for me with the big wad of cash in my pocket and silly grin,

some of you guys need to get a life, if you call someone a liar and it is found you are wrong then you should be punted from this site like a stale #####

inside joke or at least he was.
