1911 question

You know how once you want something very specific it is hard to make concessions? Well, my current ordeal is that I want a 5" 1911 in stainless or hardcrome, with the standard doo-dads (beavertail, extended safety, decent combat type sights) with no forward serrations (hate the looks of them). It is easy to find most of these options on any production 1911, but not all of them (particularly the no forward serrations). The only one so far I can find is a stainless Sig 1911, but i'm not big on the sig lines on the slides....

does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a manufacturer out there that can meet these specifications? Should I give up and get ahold of a custom smith?

This one I saw off of Armco's site would fit the bill perfectly if there were no forward serrations

Thank you for any and all responses.

Have not called anyone, just many many hours of interneting. Budget, 'round 1500 would be around the most I would like to spend.

that one you just posted has serrations in the front of the slide... ? :runaway:

Anyways, Dan Wesson, Para, S&W, Springer, Wilson, LesBaer, make a few 1911's with no front slide serrations.

Edit: are you looking for .45acp ?

The Dan Wesson Valor I was on the hunt for but it doesnt look good at getting one in Canada, Springfield's non-FCS 1911's dont have any of the other additions i'm looking for, Wilson / Les Baer a little on the pricey side (beeing aprox 1K more than I would like to spend)...

I'm looking for a Valor and they are near impossible to find lol.

If you're open to a 10mm, Dan Wesson RZ-10 is supposed to be a wicked gun. Price for one is about $1300 range

note: not my gun and not the stock grips..

Colt makes 1911's in stainless (the 1991 has no serrations), Dan Wesson's PM-7 is 45 cal. stainless (does have forward serrations), and all of the Dlask 1911's that I've handled (6 or 7) have been absolutely gorgeous. Colt's and Dan Wessons through Arms East at the top of the page. The DW Valour is actually a Black finished gun, over stainless. One of the members here had Dlask build him a 45 and loved it - Thor I think??

The Dan Wesson Valor was deffinatly something I was after, but apparently thre is only one in Canada, so that one is a bit of a dead end for now.

Thanks for all the responses, deffinatly gave me more options.
