Now this happened a while ago but Im just getting around to posting it now. It was the second weekend of the hunting season ( sept 20 ) and i was out checking some of the roads by our house and I managed to find his nice spruce grouse waiting for me, one shot with my new SxS Yildiz and down he went. This is becoming the first gun out of the safe everytime i go out hunting, it has racked up quiet a few grouse already this season and there is still lots of time left.

Hi Why not?

Yep it's my first choice for upland hunting, it's a 12 gauge and I have cylinder and improved cylinder choke's screwed in.This year I have been useing just light loads of #7.5 & 8's Most of the cover that I have been hunting has been pretty tight, most shot's no more then 20 yards so I don't need the exta punch.

Ya lots of grouse in the okanogan this year. I live just out of Oliver up the Mckinney and have shot between 3-5 evrytime I went out in the last 2 weeks:dancingbanana: Even saw 8 turkeys one day but they ran too fast to get a shot

Very nice picture. And that looks like a lovely gun. How much does it weigh?

Do spruce grouse flush like ruffies? I've only ever seen them sittting.

Hi grouse man
The gun weigh's in at a littlie over 6 pounds and spruce grouse do flush the same as ruff's although they do tend to hold a bit longer then the ruff's
